The Port Steiner School Adventurers!

What an incredible week it's been here on the farm! We had the pleasure of hosting a wonderful group of students, teachers and parents from the Port Macquarie Steiner School for their camping adventure - and what a time they had!

One day was spent going bush with Rod, where the kids learned how to read maps, navigate the bush, and think like real explorers. They discovered what true leadership looks like out in nature - teamwork, courage, and listening to each other - while also having important discussions about snake safety and what to pack in a survival kit. (Let's just say they now know there's a lot more to survival than just snacks!)

Another day was spent "shopping" in the garden with Desley! The students picked fresh produce straight from the beds - herbs, leafy greens, and crunchy veggies - and then helped prepare it all into a delicious lunch for everyone to share. There's something pretty special about eating what you've just harvested with your own hands.

Of course, no camp at Homegrown Organics would be complete without a campfire, and a few laughs and splashes! Whether the weather was overcast or hot, the waterslide was a great way to fill any spare time! And our beloved farm dog Simba was never far away from the action, winning hearts (and plenty of pats) from everyone.

We absolutely loved having the Steiner crew here - their curiosity, kindness, sense of adventure and enthusiasm was a wonderful addition to the farm. We're already looking forward to their next visit and more adventures around the fire and under the gum trees!
